The NBCC Foundation master's and doctoral Counseling Fellows and master's addictions Fellows attended the NBCCF Fall Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina, from Sept. 18β23, 2026.
All of the Fellows in the 2025β2026 cohort had an opportunity to network with one another and make connections with Counselors-in-training from across the United States.
NBCC Foundation community members, such as National Certified Counselors and Fellow alumni, offered presentations on the Counseling profession. Edward Wahesh, PhD, offered a fascinating motivational interviewing course for Fellows.
As part of the fellowship, students are required to conduct a presentation on the communities they plan to serve after graduation.
Isabel Gomez is the Vice President of the Foundation & Professional Services Division. She says that the NBCC Foundation hosts the Fall Institute every year to foster collaboration and prepare Counselors-in-training to enter the workforce.
βThe NBCCF Fellowship offers more than financial assistance. It provides Fellows with training, networking opportunities, and professional and leadership development.β
After a busy week in Charlotte, students felt inspired and more ready to serve their communities. They left with new friends, professional connections, and a reminder that they aren't alone in their work.
